Meet Jennifer Simon Triandafilou

Jennifer Simon Triandafilou M.A CCC-SLP is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with over 28 years of expertise. She holds a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Jennifer’s career spans diverse settings, including acute care hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, and home health services, where she has dedicated herself to helping clients acheive their goals. Her first 15 years were focused providing services to the adult neurogenic populations recovering from stroke and brain injury with a specialization in aphasia and dysphagia.

In 2000, Jennifer founded Simon Says Speech in Rockville, Maryland, with a focus on addressing orofacial myofunctional disorders. She has been trained by a multitude of myofunctional certifying agencies as well as continuing education from any and every provider she can find equipping her with specialized expertise that she brings to her innovative Simon Says programs.

Jennifer founded Simon Says Speech to empower SLPs and give them the materials to supplement what is already in their scope of practice: myofunctional therapy. Her mission is to de-mystify myofunctional therapy and give SLPs the confidence back in providing this treatment easily, affordably, and without second guessing that they have been trained in grad school.

In 2020, ASHA's Certification Standards for CCC's CHANGED!

Effective January 1, 2020 ASHA has announced that: "Swallowing/feeding, including (a) structure and function of OROFACIAL MYOLOGY and (b) oral, pharyngeal, laryngeal, pulmonary, esophageal, gastrointestinal, and related functions across the life span" is now mandatory in ALL SLP Core Competency Certification Standards

So, What Does This Mean?

This means that ALL SLPs are REQUIRED to have knowledge of myofunctional disorders & therapy to maintain their Core Compentency Certification!
