about the presentation
The Oral Rest Posture (ORP) is often overlooked. It’s not an oral function like speaking or swallowing, but it is a stealth semi-function that can potentially impact, or even impede your client’s therapy success. Learn beneficial connections between the ORP and speech and swallowing, as well as analysis details, how to deal with oral obstacles, and specific therapy techniques for 6+ year old children.

LEarner outcomes
  • Describe the ORP basic positions and state of the lips, tongue, and jaw.
  • List two C-F-O-R obstacles and potential remedies or compensations
  • Describe at least two benefits of lingual lateral bracing
  • Summarize the differences between the two ORP Therapy Phases.
