about the presentation
The Method Behind the MYO: Where Do I Begin in Public Education? You are already embracing myofunctional therapy, but how do you effectively utilize your skills in the public school setting? With an increasing number of students entering preschool with feeding needs, and articulation students unable to remediate into high school, it is imperative that school based SLP’s begin looking at their caseloads through the lens of myofunctional therapy. This course will empower you to use your skills to evaluate, treat, and advocate for the needs of your students. You will learn how to best incorporate this information within the confines of the public school setting. We will discuss potential action steps for initiating conversations with your district administrators to begin implementing evidence-based speech and feeding therapeutic programs. This will provide you with a starting point toward more effective collaboration with school staff, parents, and other professionals.
